Special Olympics Andorra
The First Special Olympics Games will be held in Andorra in 2025, offering an inclusive sports experience for 53 athletes with intellectual disabilities. The competitions will include futsal matches, featuring teams divided into different levels.
The event will feature an opening ceremony with a parade of all delegations, athlete, coach, and referee oaths, and a performance by a local artist singing the official song of the Games. Additionally, various recreational activities will be organized in a dedicated area adjacent to the competition venues throughout the event.
The primary goal of the project is to promote individuals with intellectual disabilities by using sports as a tool for inclusion and to showcase the sporting abilities of this community, while raising awareness in society about the importance of integration and normalization of this group.
